This policy covers the Cellophane iPhone app, made by raindog. Cellophane does not require an account and does not include advertising, tracking, or third-party analytics. The app does not send your audio or saved musical work to raindog. Optional paired-Mac processing transfers audio to the Mac you pair and may retain a local retry copy.

iPhone playback and editing

Audio playback, editing, and optional tempo and beat analysis run on your iPhone. This iPhone build does not run stem separation locally. Optional paired-Mac processing is available when supported by the Mac's installed model and permissions. It transfers audio to the Mac you pair and may retain a local retry copy. Audio is not sent to raindog for this operation.

What the app stores

Imported audio, captures of the app’s own playback, sample assets, waveform and timing information, saved Cels and Mixes, preferences, and processing-recovery information are stored in the app's local container. A local retry copy of source audio may remain while a paired-Mac operation is pending or being retried. Temporary processing files may also be created. App data can be included in device backups according to your Apple settings.

You can remove music and saved work using the app's available library controls. Deleting the app removes its local app data. Copies you exported, shared, or retained in a backup are controlled separately by you and the relevant service.

Files and permissions

Audio files are selected through the system file picker. A file you choose may come from local storage or a cloud file provider you use. That provider's own privacy policy applies to its handling of the file.

Connections and sharing you choose

Audio playback uses the output route you choose through iOS. Paired-Mac processing uses the Mac you paired; availability depends on that Mac's installed model and permissions. This release does not capture external audio or activate MIDI device connections.

If you export or share audio, open a website, or transfer files using system tools, data goes to the destination you choose. The destination's policies apply. Cellophane does not automatically upload your library to a raindog cloud account. For optional downloads, Cellophane connects to the URL or provider you select; that service's policies apply.

Support and diagnostics

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message, and anything you choose to attach. We use that information to respond and investigate the issue; please do not send private recordings unless you want us to receive them. We retain support correspondence as needed to resolve requests and maintain support records. You can contact us to request deletion.

Apple may collect purchase information and device diagnostics under its own policies and your settings. This is separate from Cellophane's local audio processing. Visiting this website also involves the website hosting provider receiving normal web request information.
